v/w Numeric Catalog Group  & Stock Numbers

The default sort order of your ULTRA reports is alphabetical, so pure numeric fields will therefore sort left to right like text fields do.

This can make your reports hard to read if you elect to use pure numeric stock and catalog group numbers.

Example of numbers sorted like text:  1, 2, 21, 22, 3, 31 etc.

Catalog Group (10 chars max) and Stock Number (15 chars max) are ALPHANUMERIC fields in ULTRA.  However, in earlier versions of invent!ory PLUS, they were both pure numeric.

For example "12500" is pure numeric but "A12500" is alphanumeric.

To properly sort a numeric field in ASCENDING ORDER, you need to sort the field right-to-left whereas alphanumeric fields sort left-to-right.

The bottom line: Unless you check these boxes, your reports will sort Catalog Group and Stock Number as though they were text.

xApproval to Fill Online Requisitions

Unless some other user enters a "1" in the App column to  signify  approval, the Fill All  or Fill Selected button (lower left) will bypass filling the open requisitions.

The bottom line: only check this box you require another user to approve all online requisitions before filling.

y Hide On Hand Units in Submit Requisitions Screen

Displaying the On Hand Units box is the default setting of the "Submit Requisitions" screen (right).

If you check the box below:

the On Hand Units box goes away.

Many Purchasing manager prefer users not to know how many units of an item are in stock, thinking that this encourages wasteful ordering.
